Before starting her Greeting Card Business Toni was a Mail Carrier during the day & painting in her spare time, usually at night. After selling nearly 300 of her original works of art plus limited edition prints and hundreds of miniature reproductions she began to wonder if she could seriously consider making a living from her art. She contacted a half dozen publishers and they all said "What you're painting won't sell." Well now, Toni knew better than that! Here she was living in a town literally no bigger than a postage stamp and she'd sold more prints and paintings than the whole town's population! That's when she decided to become her own publisher. She designed, published and marketed her own line of greeting cards, giving herself three months off from the mail route to see if, in fact, she could make a career change. Well, 17 years later, Toni has sold all but 40 of the nearly 500 paintings she has created, plus hundreds of prints, thousands of miniature prints and a zillion greeting cards! Needless to say, she never went back to the mail route. A few years ago Toni added to her line a series of motivational cards called "Toni Talks." They were so successful that she came out with a second series called "Toni Talks and Talks and . . . " Toni was amazed that beside the public wanting her art, they were also interested in what she had to say. So she published her third line titled "When Toni Talks People Listen!" and just recently her fourth series "Toni's Walk Talk." Toni is gaining wide spread recognition as a wildlife artist and for good reason. Her animal portraits give the viewer the feeling that the animal is going to walk right off the canvas and come over to you. Admirers of her work say she does things with the eyes. Toni says, "That's where it all starts!" Toni is now licensing other artists work and including them in her card line. On the back of each card is the artists name and any other information they feel comfortable with. Toni thanks each and every one of you who support her work which allows her to . . . Dream for a Living. |
